Morgan leaned on the rail that outlined the dirt track. She timed Fiddler on the Roof as he galloped across the finish line with Hazel aboard. The two had become nearly inseparable since they met, and they worked together flawlessly. He lunged out with each stride until he accomplished his task, and passed by in a new record time for him. Morgan smiled and gave Hazel a thumbs up as she came trotting back. Hazel leaned down to pet Ross's glossy neck as he danced in excitement. Morgan turned back and headed towards the barn. She was insanely excited to ride her dearest filly, Afterglow. Her first race ever was coming up, and she could not wait for the filly to show the world who she really is.
Owen and Morgan tacked up their horses and headed out to the track. Mastermind was shoving Owen to get his treat, but Owen pushed his nose away and told him "later". Mastermind's coat was already glowing bright red, a trait he inherited from both his colorful parents. Afterglow's coat was like a dark chocolate color with light highlights. She was already throwing her own fit about not being able to walk by the grass and eat it. Morgan ignored her antics and urged her forwards, trying to get her to move on. Stormi finally snorted and walked towards the track. Mastermind had been watching her curiously the whole time, but once he felt the dirt beneath his hooves he tossed his head and pulled at the reins excitedly.
Afterglow kicked out and threw her head into the bridle. Getting agitated with not being able to sprint and run, she lashed out at Mastermind with her teeth. Mastermind just gave her an inquisitive look and continued to prance under Owen. "Alright, let's get them moving before they explode," Owen said while laughing. They started to trot the two two year olds around the track. Both pulled at their reins anxiously, but Stormi fought the most. She wanted to go and stay that way, but Morgan held her back firmly. Raz looked over curiously at Stormi again before snorting and bowing his neck.
After the two two year olds were trotted around the track, both Owen and Morgan urged them to pick up a slow gallop. Raz took the lead eagerly while Stormi settled in behind the bright chestnut colt. She didn't pull against Morgan's grip and was now happy to be galloping behind Raz.
